Job Description :
• We have an urgent opening for Software Application Support with our Fortune 500 client. This opening does NOT have any night shifts / graveyard shifts and NO weekend shifts.
Total Experience :
• 0.6 - 2 years in software support / application support (or technical support) with experience in handling global customers
NOTE :
1. This position requires excellent written and spoken communication skills. This role requires the ability to effectively interact with clients face to face as well as over email / phone. It is mandatory to clear the GD and / or essay writing for all candidates.
2. This role requires in-depth knowledge of various technologies dealing with enterprise businesses and as such it's mandatory to clear a technical written test based on the "must have" technologies outlined below.
Must have (Mandatory) :
• Solid understanding of object oriented theories
• Hands on experience with core Java and related technologies
• Good scripting knowledge with Shell scripting / Java script / VB script
• Solid understanding of database technologies (MS SQL, Oracle, DB2)
• Hands on knowledge of one or more platforms / OS such as Windows, variants of Unix/Linux
• Very good theoretical and practical understanding of networking concepts, TCP / IP, IPv6, VPN
• Knowledge of Software Configuration Management /Application Lifecycle Management tools / principles
• Excellent written and spoken English
Nice to have (Optional) :
• UNIX system administration experience is nice to have
• Background in Networking and NIS is highly desirable
• Understanding of LDAP / ADS
• Hands on experience of application servers such as JBoss / Tomcat
• Awareness of web-related technologies such as HTML, XML and Web servers such as Apache / Tomcat / Jboss / Glassfish
• Familiarity with client/server based software applications
